CyI scientists to be key note speakers at the lecture: 'Climate Change & Tourism - Hot Business?'

On the occasion of the International Tourism Day, the association Cypriot Women in Tourism and TEPAK will host scientists from the Cyprus Institute, Professors Jos Lelieveld and Nobel Laureate Prof. Paul Crutzen, to be their keynote speakers on the subject “Climate Change and Tourism – Hot Business?” The speakers will address global climate change and its consequences for Cyprus.

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 29 September, 18:00 hours, at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia and will be followed by an open discussion which will include panelists, Prof. Costas N. Papanicolas, Dr Costas Papavasiliou, Mrs Phoebe Katsouri, Mr Manthos Mavrommatis, and Mr Charalambos Theopemptou. The journalist Mr Lefteris Adilinis will act as moderator. The question is how the Cypriot tourist sector can cope with the challenges of climate change.

Cocktails will follow at 20:00 hours.

Cypriot Women in Tourism Association is a nongovernmental organization set up in 2007 under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and aims to establish Cyprus as a quality tourism destination.
