Research Assistant - Air quality, climate change and human health
Research Assistant for the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC)
Air quality, climate change and human health
The EEWRC is intended as an important research resource for the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa, and as a gateway between the EU and the region for addressing energy, environment and water issues on the basis of science and technology. The EEWRC is the first research center of the Cyprus Institute (CyI, www.cyi.ac.cy), a novel non-profit research and educational institution. The CyI strives to achieve the highest standards of excellence with an emphasis on international partnerships with world-class universities and research organizations. The EEWRC has been established in close collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The EEWRC solicits applications for a specialist in public health and epidemiology with an interest in air quality and climate change. We offer an interesting position in a dynamic team of researchers which investigates air quality and climate change in the Mediterranean region. Tasks will include the risk assessment of photochemical air pollution and particulate matter on human health and direct and indirect effects of climate with a focus on the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. The appointment will be for a fixed term of initially two years with an option for extension. Candidates should have a higher education in environmental and public health, and experience in data analysis and computer science.
