Research Collaboration Agreement signed with the University of Athens

A Research Collaboration Agreement was signed between The Cyprus Institute and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on Tuesday, 23 March 2010. The partnership will foster joint research and educational activities in areas of common interest. The Agreement marked the beginning of a formal collaboration between The Cyprus Institute and the University of Athens as cooperation had already started for some time now, including the atmospheric measurements at the Presidential Palace in order to determine the potential of transforming the central administrative building of the Republic of Cyprus into a model environment-friendly state building and the digitization of Cypria Letters.

The signing ceremony took place at the Athalassa campus of the Institute and was addressed by Dr. Erato Kozakou Markoulli, Minister of Communications and Works and Dr. Andreas Moleskis, Head of the Cyprus EU Presidency Secretariat.  The agreement was signed by Prof. Costas N. Papanicolas, President of the Cyprus Institute and Prof. Demosthenis Asimakopoulos, Rector of the University of Athens.
