Profile
Marina has a PhD and MSc in Environmental Physics and a BSc in Physics from the University of Athens. Her PhD dissertation was on “Characteristic scales of transport and transformation of air pollutants – Impacts on climate”. Her expertise lies in the development and application of atmospheric and chemical transport modelling systems; assessment of air quality in regional and urban scale; research on long-range transport of pollutants in the Mediterranean region and impacts on climate and possible feedbacks on air quality and atmospheric conditions.
Marina was previously an Associate Researcher at the University of Athens (School of Physics, Division of Environmental Physics-Meteorology), Atmospheric Modelling and Weather Forecasting Group (AM&WFG).
Research Interests
Atmospheric Dynamics (Regional and Mesoscale Modeling); Atmospheric Chemistry; Modeling of Atmospheric Chemical Processes (development and application of Chemical Transport Models-CTMs); Air pollution and climate (long-range transport-physicochemical processes); Interactions between gases and PM of different origin (natural and anthropogenic); Emission inventory processing system.
