Aayushi grew up in Hong Kong and received her university qualifications from the UK. She obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences (Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) from the University of Exeter (2017) and her MSc in Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology from Imperial College London (2018). Following her graduation, Aayushi worked at a malaria lab at Imperial College London. She then gained experience at Intellectual Property Law Firm in Japan where she helped global pharmaceuticals and universities obtain patents for their inventions. She has also worked at a material and food testing lab in Hong Kong during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she tested masks for filtration efficiencies.
Aayushi started pursuing her PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. George K. Christophides, as part of the Vector Biology group at The Climate & Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C) in February 2021.
Research Interests
Aayushi’s research interests lie in understanding the ecological and environmental factors which influence the transmission of arboviruses and other mosquito-borne diseases.
