Chrysovalantis Constantinou is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) at The Cyprus Institute, where he focuses on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to medical imaging. His current research involves building predictive models using machine learning and AI for medical image analysis.

He has also worked on several machine learning projects, including developing data science web applications like SexEst and AgeEst, which estimate the sex and age-at-death of ancient skeletons. Additionally, Chrysovalantis co-led the NI4OS-Europe project, which promoted open science and facilitated the onboarding of research services across Southeastern Europe.

Chrysovalantis holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from the University of Notre Dame, where he conducted computational research on light nuclei using the ab initio no-core configuration interaction approach. He also holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the same institution and a Diploma in Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens. His postdoctoral work at Yale University involved further computational studies on light nuclei.

In addition to his research, Chrysovalantis developed 3D previewers for the Clowder data curation platform at the University of Illinois and has a strong interest in exploring 3D web development.
