Niovi Christodoulou joined the Water Department of Energy, Environment and Water Research Center as a Technical Research Specialist in February 2023. She holds an MSc in Plant Sciences with specialization in Greenhouse Horticulture, obtained in 2011 from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. She received a BSc in Agronomy with specialization in Horticulture and Viticulture, in 2007 at the Aristotle University.

 

Niovi aims to contribute to the improved understanding and management of agricultural and natural ecosystems in relation to climate change. She is responsible for maintaining several hydro-ecological monitoring stations in agricultural and natural ecosystems in Cyprus and installing new experimental stations, including the  collection, management, and analysis of large data sets. She is also responsible for taking water, soil and plant samples in the field, conducting laboratory analyses and plant physiological observations. Cooperation and communication with local stakeholders are part of her role.
