Soti Ioannou
Soti Ioannou is a freelance tattoo artist, as well as a contracted technical designer for the Department of Antiquities, Cyprus. She has received her Bachelor degree in BA Hons Fine Art from Birmingham City University in the UK and a Master’s diploma on the then experimental course of “Modern Methods of Capturing and Documenting Archaeological Monuments” from the Hellenic Open University.
She has been the lead technical designer, working alongside the Antiquities Department, for a number of important excavations throughout Cyprus including the development-led excavations for the sewerage and drainage systems in Larnaca and Limassol, with her most significant project being the digital capture of six UNESCO tombs in Paphos. Soti has joined the Cyprus Institute Graduate School’s Master’s degree programme on Digital Cultural Heritage to enrich her skills and knowledge on the use of new technologies in documenting, archiving and preserving archaeological monuments and artefacts.
