On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the Chief Scientist and Chairman of Research Innovation Foundation (RIF), Mr. Demetris Skourides, visited CyI’s premises in Nicosia, to get to know more about the Institute and its educational and research activities, and to identify and explore new possible areas of collaboration.

 

Hosting the meeting was CyI President Prof. Stavros Malas, in the presence of CyI Vice President of Operations, Dr Michalis Yiangou, CyI Director of Research and Technical Support, Dr Vassilis Tsakalos, CyI Assistant Vice President of Policy and Internal Communication, Mrs. Eleni Sophocleous, CyI Asst. Vice President of Strategy and Development, Dr Konstantinos Kleovoulou, CARE-C Director, Prof. Jean Sciare, CaSToRC Director, Prof. Constantine Dovrolis, STARC Director, Prof. Michel Menu, EEWRC and STeDI-RC Interim Director, Prof. Theodoros Zachariadis, and Head of Graduate School, Dr Chrysanthia Leontiou.

 

Followed by a brief presentation on The Cyprus institute’s milestones, Mr. Skourides had the opportunity to given a guided tour of selected CyI facilities, including the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL) and the High-Performance Computing Facility (HPC). A meeting regarding the Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus (DiGiNN), also took place during his visit.
